I’ve also been craving a good chocolate-covered donut for about the past two weeks, and I finally tried a barbeque sandwich from The Firehouse last weekend when Sarah was here. Sarah’s visit ALSO encouraged me to try oatmeal for the first time since I was probably 5…. and I loved it. Today I cut up pieces of apple and put it in the apples&cinnamon oatmeal mix before microwaving it, and it was the yummiest fall warm-yourself-up meal I’ve ever experienced.
I don’t think I’ve blogged about food before, but I’ve been thinking about it a lot over the past week because I’ve been eating (or craving) these bizarre foods that I’ve either never eaten or never even desired to eat (like the cheeseburger).
All that to say, it’s pretty wonderful that God has given us tastebuds so we can experience and enjoy food. What a gift from him that we get to experience throughout each day.
Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.-James 1:16-17.
Father, thank you for sustaining my physical body with food that you’ve also given me the privilege to enjoy. I love you and am so amazed by your hand that directs my path. Every path. I want to think about you all the day long. So I will, while I enjoy this earl gray tea and while I go to work to serve other people food you’ve made for them to enjoy. You are my joy.
